Tim Burt

Director, Strategy and Planning, Future Skills Organisation
Tim Burt is the Director, Strategy and Planning at the Future Skills Organisation, with responsibility for workforce planning, data and research, and policy. Since commencing in July 2023, Tim has overseen the delivery of two Workforce Plans for the Finance, Technology and Business sectors and undertaken a body of research on the impact of AI on the FTB workforce and Vocational Education and Training.

Prior to commencing with the FSO, Tim held senior roles at Business NSW, Urbis and NSW Health, which included responsibility for strategic workforce planning across the health system, intergovernmental negotiations on workforce initiatives and the design and implementation of recruitment and retention strategies.

Emma Connolly

Talent and Organisational Development Director, CBI
Emma Connolly is Talent and Organisational Development Director at the CBI and a member of its Senior Leadership Team. She joined the CBI in 2017, initially leading leadership development and executive education programmes for members and business leaders, equipping them to drive change and influence policy through effective engagement with government.

In 2023, Emma moved into the People and Culture team, where she leads the CBI’s cultural transformation agenda, a portfolio of strategic, people-focused initiatives including talent management, progression, skills development and workforce planning.

Prior to joining the CBI, Emma was a management consultant at EY in the Financial Services practice, specialising in people and change. Earlier in her career, she held a range of roles across change, communications and HR at Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group and NatWest.

Emma holds an MA in International Relations and French from the University of St Andrews and is an accredited Executive Coach.
